I am The Cranky Old Man, an elderly gentleman who has led a varied, often wild, and always interesting life. Through my education, wide-ranging experiences, insight, personality, and plain orneriness, I have formed opinions on every aspect of our civilization.



I was born in the heart of New York City and had the privilege of attending the famed Bronx High School of Science. My pursuit of knowledge led me to Syracuse University and UCLA, and I proudly hold an AB degree from the University of Southern California.



Over the course of more than 35 years, I lived and worked abroad in cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Copenhagen, Antwerp, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid, Seville, Thailand, Australia, and Japan. I had the opportunity to work for the government and the movie industry, hold various corporate executive marketing positions, and even serve as President of International Operations for a European public company before venturing into my own business as a finance and marketing consultant.



Returning to the United States a few years ago, I was taken aback by how drastically the country had changed since I left. Witnessing these shifts, I felt compelled to comment on everything that irked me (and sometimes, surprisingly, pleased me). My hope is that my vast experience, knowledge, and idiosyncratic viewpoint will help bring the pros and cons of diverse issues to my readers attention.
